I run push ads at RichAds for the first time. The goal was to collect CC submit on a very
competitive GEO — in the USA. The initial target CPA was $25, but I want to make it lower, of
course.
I have some experience in affiliate marketing also run push ads a couple of times. Recently I’ve
run DOI Sweepstakes on push ads and got good results. Now it was a time for a more complicated
game.
Solution
To make my way easier, I decided to make a $1000 deposit and ask the account manager for help.
I set up the postback with my tracker. It was easy because the tracker was an integrated one.
This makes it possible for my AM to help me with the campaign.
I started with 10 creatives + 4 landing pages on Premium sources.
My daily budget was $170 that was enough for the test.
Basic Campaign Setup
GEO — the USA.
CPC - $0.14.
Daily budget - $170.
Budget: $5000.
CPA goal: $25.
10 creatives.
4 pre-landing pages.
3 days of test.
Targeting Options Applied
Device: Mobile, Desktop
2 separate campaigns were created.
Browser Language: English
1 Impression Per User, 2 Click Per User over 1 day.
Approach to creatives:
I started with 10 creatives to make an initial test. 3 of them were my own, 4 the best from the
CPA network, and 3 ideas I found in the spy tool and change a little bit.
I also tested 4 pre-landing pages with different funnels. All of them use gamification elements.
Campaign Optimization
We run this campaign for 3 days to get the data. From the beginning, we got 12 conversions, but
their CPA was bigger than I expected.
We left 3 best creatives: 2 of them were my and 1 from spy tool. I add some non-converting
sources to the blacklist, and AM helped me set up Automated rules to lower the CPA.
Automated rules
My support manager helped me to create 2 rules:
AM blocked every source with a CPA higher than the target CPA $25. The rule was: if
the CPA is more than $25 and there are more than 0 conversions, then Blacklist the
Publisher.
The second rule was to block expensive sources: if the spend is more than $18 and
there are 0 conversions, then Blacklist the Publisher.
After 10 days, the mobile campaign showed promising results, the CTA was lowed to $18.45, so we
scaled them to other sources: Standard and New. The desktop campaign was stoped. I asked the AM
to make new creatives based on the best-performing ones and make some new tests.
He also advised me to create a new campaign for New Subscribers only. The idea
was that new
subscribers react better on the push ads, especially when it comes to Sweepstakes. We set up
this campaign with the best creatives.
Well, I don’t believe in the success of this offer from the beginning: the Geo was competitive,
and the offer wasn’t an easy one. But good creatives and AM helped me to get profit. After a
month, I stopped the campaign. Now I think to test another GEO from Tier 1. Let’s see if this
will work or not.
